  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt, divided

  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into large pieces

  • ¼ cup butter

  • 2 egg yolks 

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
