Date Rolls
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup oil
2 tablespoons vanilla
1.5 cups sugar
1 cup orange juice
3 sticks butter
2 lb. flour

1 package of pitted, pressed dates, softened
Powder Sugar

This amount of dough yields 6 rolls.
However, 1 package of the date is enough only for 3 rolls.

Place the first 7 ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix about 5 minutes to get a soft dough.
Form a ball, cover with stretch paper.
Refrigerate for 1/2 an hour.

Divide the dough into 6 sections. Roll out each section to a thin square.
Spread the date paste and roll-up and place on an oiled cookie sheet.
Mark the slices but do not cut all the way.

Bake in a 350F oven for about 35 minutes to golden.

After it is cold, sprinkle with powder sugar.

Note: the same dough can be used with the fillings bellow
