2 1/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
4 teaspoons ice water
8 oz. almond paste
2 teaspoons sugar
1/3 ground almonds
2/3 cup powder sugar
In a food processor mix flour, salt, butter and water.
Form one ball and divide it into 9 balls.
Cover w. wax paper and refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Mix well almonds paste, egg, 2 tablespoons sugar and ground almonds (mix will be sticky).
Form a ball using floured hands.
Divide into 3 and balls and roll into rope like shape. each 16" lone and 1/2" diameter.
Cut each rope to 16 1" pieces.
Roll the dough on a floured surface to 12"x12" square and cut to 16 3"x3" squares.
Place a piece of the paste in the middle of the dough, and roll diagonally to crescent shape.
Place on non greased cookies sheet 1" apart.
Bake in 400f until edges start to brown, about 12 minutes.
Cover w/ powder sugar while hot.
Store in layers separated with wax paper
